Founder's Politics
People always prefer doing business with someone they know; and, to really know someone you need to know about his Heritage, Religion, and Politics. Here are some of the political thoughts of our Founder, Duane Engdahl, in his own words.
Engdahl is a student of history and politics and is especially interested in American History and Current Political Events and Worldwide Economics; he believes that fundamentally there are only three forms of government: Autocracies, Colonies, and Republics.

Republics are governed by representatives elected by the people.

Autocracies are leader governed; when the leader is ordained by heritage the autocracy is called a monarchy, when the leader is seated by force, it is called a dictatorship; when the leader is elected by popular vote of the people, it is called a democracy.

Colonies are leader governed with the leader being appointed by the leader of their superior government.
Republics are fragile and rare. Throughout history there have been only three republics of any significance: the Greek City State Republics of antiquity, the Roman Republic which existed for only a few years before degrading into the autocratic Roman Empire a couple thousand years ago, and the United States of America which is currently the most powerful nation on earth.
The Greek and Roman Republics failed because they were bound by the honor of their elected leaders and of course anyone who understands human nature can tell you that honor is present in varying degrees and it cannot be relied upon especially in leadership positions where power is a major corrupting factor.
What makes the United States of America a great and lasting republic is that it is a government which is bound by a Constitution and not by the honor of its leaders; plus the leaders are elected by the people for relatively short terms, thus minimizing the unavoidable corruption of leadership. The Constitution of the United States of America limits the power of the leadership and the Bill of Rights of the United States of America guarantees the power of the citizens to exercise their God given rights with minimum governmental interference. Truly a remarkable form of government created by Founders who did such great work that I believe they must have been inspired by God himself.
Prior to the Declaration of Independence, the United States of America was merely a loosely connected group of separate English Colonies in the new world, each governed by a different appointed leader of the English Monarchy. Each of these Colonies felt strongly that their God given rights were being oppressed by the Monarch and so in 1776 they made their declaration of freedom and subsequently went to war to preserve that freedom. Not satisfied that they lost the first round, the English Monarch went to war again in 1812, and once again the new free republic of the United States of America prevailed. After winning freedom and then confirming freedom, the United States of America has finally won the respect of the English and we have become fast friends hopefully ever after.
Our Canadian neighbors to the north were fellow colonists prior to our declaration of independence, but instead of joining our independence movement, they decided remain a colony (loyalists as they were called then); so to this day they remain a Colony of the British Empire (England) governed by a leader appointed by the English Monarch and Canadians have no rights except as given to them by their appointed leader. Canadians were ambivalent to freedom then and remain so to this very day, slowly but surely their country is in decline and they don't even know it because all the cold winter long they are watching hockey on television; and, during their short summertime, they are too busy riding their bicycles and smelling their roses. Don't get me wrong, I love Canada and Canadians -- here in Phoenix, we have Canadian Steve Nash doing a terrific job of leading our Suns basketball team; and back when I was attending the University of Minnesota I used Canadian Country Club Ale as my intoxicant of choice (see Palmer Rules).
Our Mexican neighbors to the south are a federation of 31 states each of which is a constitutional republic. In my opinion this is like taking a half step toward good governance and it is what makes Mexico a well intended but weak nation with so much corruption at the federal level. I love Mexicans and I love Mexico and I even own vacation property in San Felipe BC Mexico, but my enduring wish is that the Federal Government of Mexico would get its act together and become what it has the potential to become. Mexico has huge resources, good people, great climate, and is a beautiful tourist attraction, so there is absolutely no reason why it should be a third world country except for the weakness and corruption of its federal government. Mexicans will risk their lives for freedom and a better life and that is the fundamental cause of our illegal Mexican immigration problem - illegal migrants from Mexico will continue to cross our southern border for freedom and a better life no matter what we do to try and stop them; but only until the Mexican Federal Government gets its act together.
With a few exceptions, all the other nations on earth are Autocratic in their governance. For example:

Russia, our old cold war competitor seems to have become a Democratic Autocracy, but I believe it is corrupt in its leader election process.

Pakistan, our friend in the middle east is a Democratic Autocracy and they will remain our friend as long as their leadership remains our friend.

Iran, our adversary in the middle ease is a Theocracy (an Autocracy based upon Theology), and they will remain our adversary for as long as they remain in power and the religion of Islam remains adversarial to the religion of Christianity.

Israel, our friend in the middle east is a Representative Democracy with a Parliament, e.g. it is an Democratic Autocracy, which will remain our friend as long as their leadership remains our friend.

Iraq, our protectorate in the middle east, is a Democratic Autocracy which will remain our friend as long as we remain their protectorate.

Afghanistan, our protectorate in the middle east, is a Democratic Autocracy which will remain our friend as long as we remain their protectorate.
What about politics in the USA. This is an election year and as usual, two political parties are vying for the Presidency and the majority of the seats in our Congress and Senate, the Democrats and the Republicans.
The Democrats tend to be liberal in their interpretation of our Constitution and the Republicans tend to be conservative. Furthermore Democrats tend to favor benefits to the populous over the rights of the individual, whereas Republicans tend to favor individual rights over the benefits to the populous. And even furthermore, Democrats seem to hate America and want to change it become more like other countries of the world, while Republicans seem to love America and want to keep it the strong successful nation that it is. For these reasons, I am a Republican.
